Death’s Eve

Hudba: Marcus, Ertha 2011
Text: Marcus, Eyrah, Ereis 2011
Tuto píseň, původně pod romantičtějším názvem Morning’s Eve, věnoval Marcus své přítelkyni Evičce. V podání Erthy zazněla pouze na koncertě 12.3.2011. Po Marcusově odchodu z kapely jsme mu ji přenechali.

Text:

Say, was it real or just a dream? For it would seem
my life was only one grey and faded line.
Real was it, no, not a dream, and it does seem
my life was only an empty and soundless whine.

From morning till eve, the whole lifetime leads to decay.
The morning gave you birth and the evening took what you’ve remained.
You’ve lived just death’s eve – and forgot the day.

Say, was it real or just a dream? For it would seem
my life, it was a tale worth singing about.
Real was it, no, not a dream, and it does seem
my life was full of deeds that might make me proud.

From morning till eve, preying on time, you can’t evade.
The morning gave you birth and the evening took what you’ve remained.
You’ve lived just death’s eve – and forgot the day.

Life’s passing by, then you realize,
no matter how you’ve lived, it slips from your grasp.
Look at yourself, a lost soul in the great world,
your deeds meant nothing, now rest in peace.

Rec.:
In the evening of my life I find myself stepping out of my past. I can’t remember; it has gone away so fast. Was the path I’ve chosen right or wrong, who can decide it? But I feel I have had my place in this world.

Wretched, redundant, needless, insignificant.
Useless, silly, worthless, pathetic!

No, I won’t believe that all I have done was in vain!
The memory of my woe,
the sunset on the death’s eve
and the night will let me grow
out of my pain!

Say, was it real or just a dream? For it would seem
my life, it flowed away – should I feel betrayed?
Real was it, yes, not a dream – I will redeem
my calm and chase the fears before I fade…
Before I fade…
